Vasiliou Is A Blue

Margate Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Antonis Vasiliou.

The 22-year old attacking midfielder joins the Blues after leaving Wingate & Finchley in the summer.

Vasiliou scored nine times last season for Wingate as they battled against relegation from the Isthmian Premier Division.

Vasiliou started his career with Barnet, progressing through their youth ranks before breaking into their first team squad. During his development, the midfielder spent time on loan at St Albans, Beaconsfield, Ashford Town and Wingate before joining them permanently last summer.

As well as his club career, Vasiliou has also represented Cyprus at U19 level three times.

Manager Reece Prestedge believed the signing of Vasiliou will enhance the Blues further after their impressive start to the 2023/24 season.

“Antonis will add further threat to our side going forward. He scored nine times last season for Wingate which proved to be crucial goals as they stayed in the division.”

“We have started well and we feel that Antonis can help push us on further as we look to continue that form, starting Friday night when we face Cheshunt at Hartsdown Park.”

The midfielder could make his Blues debut as we welcome Cheshunt to Hartsdown Park in the Isthmian Premier Division League.
