Margate v Staines Town

Margate welcome Staines to Hartsdown Park tomorrow (Saturday) just seven days after dumping them out of this seasons Buildbase FA Trophy.

The Blues overcome the Swans 3-0 last Saturday at Wheatsheaf Park in the Trophy but now meet in the Bostik Premier League with Margate looking to put a frustrating October behind them.

The ‘Gate conceded an 85th minute equaliser against Met Police on Tuesday evening as they remained 14th in the Bostik Premier League table after no league win October.

Tomorrows visitors will undoubtedly be out for revenge for last weekend’s defeat but their league form suggests Margate will be in for a much tougher fixture with the Swans sitting 4th in the division just seven points off top spot.

The visitors have been the most clinical in the league so far this season having scored 36 goals in 15 games, making last week’s 3-0 win even more impressive. The ‘Gate will have to be wary of former striker Elliott Buchanan who continues to lead the Staines goal scoring charts.

Manager Steve Watt will be without David Martin who serves a one game ban after collecting five yellow cards so far this term but the boss will be able to call upon Captain James Rogers after he served his one game ban during Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with the Met Police.

Kick off at Hartsdown Park is 3pm but as always if you can’t be there then you can stay right up to date on the clubs official Twitter feed at @margate_fc from 2:15pm.

Blues Dominate In Win Over High Flying Swans

Margate beat Staines for the second time in a week as they ran out 2-0 winners at Hartsdown Park thanks to goals from Jordan Chiedozie and Jack Evans.

The Blues were without David Martin who was suspended but controlled from start to finish as the visitors failed to register one shot on target.

The ‘Gate went frustratingly close on two occasions in the first half as Kane Haysman saw two headers drop agonizingly wide of the post.

Despite the frustrating opening 45 minutes the ‘Gate raced out the blocks in the second half and took the lead in the 59th minute as Chiedozie slid home the opener after some fine play from Haysman down the left.

The lead was doubled in the 76th minute as Evans drilled home a low shot to send the Gate faithful home happy for just the second time this season in the League.

Margate’s lead was almost extended further as Chiedozie who had already netted his 10th goal of the season hit a fierce effort which scraped the post as he looked to add a glossy look to the score line.

MARGATE: Pidgeley, Sessegnon, Mills, Rogers, Friend, Wynter, Haysman (Stannard 90'), Evans, Chiedozie, Collin, May (Bodkin 86')

Subs Not Used: Swift, Prescott, Warden
