The opening twenty minutes of the game saw both sides create several half chances to take the lead, however some brave defending, fine goalkeeping and poor finishing meant the score remained level as the Blues looked to grind out a win to boost their hopes of survival in the National League South.
In the 24th minute the Gate fell behind as an in-swinging corner was nodded home by Elliott Bradbrook to give the Darts a lead that they would eventually never look back on.
In the 32nd minute The Blues lost Matthias Fanimo to a slight knock meaning Jerson Dos Santos was introduced to the game and on 36 minutes the visitors forced their first meaningful chance as Morgan let fly from 25 yards which flashed inches wide of the post.
As the half time break approached Margate were let off the hook as an almighty goal mouth scramble ensued which eventually saw Ben Swift clear the ball at a last ditch attempt see the score remain 1-0 at half-time.
Any realistic hope of a Margate turn around were dashed just four minutes into the second half as Chris Sessegnon set a back pass to Jon Miles however underplayed it allowing striker Luke Wanadio to race onto it and place under Miles at the second attempt.
Margate fought back somewhat as Monakana and Morgan were both denied by a combination of brave defending from Bonner and a fine save from the Dartford loanee goalkeeper Collings.
The game was over in the 67th minute as the best goal of the night was hammered home from 25 yards by former Gate Midfielder Bradbrook whose unstoppable effort nestled in the bottom corner to make it 3-0.
The Darts almost extended their lead on 75 minutes as a deep cross into the box hit the cross bar before falling behind the goal, however their lead was extended on 84 minutes as on loan Millwall striker Alfie Pavey raced clear and calmly slotted underneath the on-rushing Miles in the Margate goal.
Defeat leaves Margate 13 points from safety with seven games to go and Saturday they welcome Eastbourne Borough to Hartsdown Park with kick off at 3pm.
