CLUB NEWS / Thala Tribute This Saturday
This Saturday’s game against Kingstonian FC offers the first occasion for the club’s fans, staff and volunteers to come together to remember Mike since his passing on Friday 15th March. As such, we’d like to make supporters aware of our plans for the fixture.
Saturday’s Match Day Magazine will be dedicated to the player most affectionately remembered across Hartsdown Park as ‘Thala’, including a written tribute by former Club Secretary Ryan Day who worked with Thala during his spells at the club.
Each and every Margate player will each wear a black armband and the club will conduct a minute’s applause before kick-off, inviting visitors to HDP to take the opportunity to pay respect to a much loved and highly thought of man, and footballer.
Margate FC continues to take the welfare and mental health of all its players, staff, volunteers and supporters of its highest importance and ask that anyone currently feeling like they need help, to reach out to the Samaritans on 116 123.
