Three Friendlies Confirmed
Margate FC continues to prepare for the 2022/23 season with the announcement of three friendlies that have now been confirmed.
‘Gate fans won’t have to wait long to have the chance to say their goodbye’s to former Manager Jay Saunders in person as the Blues will host Saunders new side Tonbridge Angels at Hartsdown Park on Saturday 23rd July 2022, with kick-off at 3pm.
The ‘Angels’ survived in the National League South after a difficult 2021.22 season, eventually finishing 16th in the Vanarama National League South.
Three days later, Andy Drury and his side will travel to Homelands, the home of Ashford United on Tuesday 26th July 2022 with kick-off at 7:45pm.
The Isthmian South-East side were beaten play-off finalists during the 2021/22 campaign, losing the final 1-0 at home to Herne Bay.
Finally, the ‘Gate can confirm that the Isle of Thanet Cup will take place at Hartsdown Park this year on Saturday 30th July 2022, again with kick-off at 3pm.
The Rams are now managed by former Gillingham Manager Steve Lovell, and missed out on the Isthmian South-East play-offs by just one point in the 2021/22 season.
The Blues lifted the trophy at Southwood last season as they overcome The ‘Rams’ 5-2 last July.
Ticket details for all of these games are yet to be agreed, however will be announced here once done so.
The Blues urge supporters to keep checking the website over the coming days as Drury ramps up preparations for the new season.
