MATCH PREVIEW / Margate v Bath City
Margate v Bath City
Margate welcome National League South side Bath City to Hartsdown Park tonight (Tuesday) looking to progress to the first round proper of this seasons Buildbase FA Trophy.
The ‘Gate face their higher league opposition again after drawing 0-0 at Twerton Park last week in a game that they could have won on the night had Kane Haysman’s header not being superbly saved in the dying minutes of the game.
The winners of tonight’s tie will face Bostik Premier Side Hendon in Round One on Saturday 16th December 2017.
Manager Steve Watt has injury concerns over Chris Sessegnon (knee) and Tom Mills (knee) whilst it remains unclear if Tom Wynter will be fit after missing Saturday’s game with an arm injury sustained at Twerton Park last Tuesday.
Bath City rotated their squad in the first fixture at Twerton Park which saw their main striker Marvin Morgan start on the bench however the hosts threw the striker on towards the end but he was unable to find a way through the resolute Margate back line.
The Blues will look to build upon their unbeaten run in all competitions which was stretched to eleven games on Saturday as they drew 1-1 with Burgess Hill Town on Saturday. The Visitors were also held to a draw at the weekend as they were held 0-0 at home to Hemel Hempstead.
Kick off at Hartsdown Park is 7:45pm but as always if you can’t be there then you can stay right up to date on the clubs official Twitter feed @margate_fc from 7:15pm.
The winners of tonight’s tie collects £5,000 as well as a place in the first round proper of the competition.
