Thanet Passport Partners for 2021/22

Margate Football Club is delighted to announce our long-standing partnership with Thanet Passport will be extended for the 2021/22 season, with the club preparing to welcome primary schools back to Hartsdown Park.

Before the pandemic struck, school children were visiting the home of football in Thanet courtesy of the club’s partnership with Thanet Passport, who help organise and support primary school sports festivals and competitions across the district.

The Gate are proud to be able to get back to hosting these events and open its doors to school children to support the First Team on a Saturday afternoon.

For the upcoming campaign, Thanet Passport will invite schools from across the local area to enjoy a game, perform a guard of honour for players, take part in our half-time penalty shoot-out competitions and assist the first team as ball boys and girls.

General Manager, Deny Wilson, is looking forward to bringing the matchday buzz back to HDP.

“After such a long wait, everyone at the club is so excited to get back playing at Hartsdown Park and that excitement extends to our local community. It is fantastic to reconnect with partners like Thanet Passport to pick back up where we left off. It’s been a tough few years for everyone but to be able to welcome pupils back adds a slice of normality to proceedings.”

“We know from past experience how much local pupils enjoy their day out with us, and in turn we benefit from the noise and atmosphere they help contribute! It’s one of many initiatives that fit in with our work to celebrate 125 years of the football club and it’s great to have Thanet Passport RSVP for the party!”

Gary Rees, Chairman & Administrator, Thanet Primary Association for School Sport, added:

“For many seasons our primary school children and their families have enjoyed their ‘Margate Mascot Matchday Experience’ and have always received a warm welcome at Hartsdown Park."

"After a season long absence, Thanet Passport is delighted to continue working in partnership with Margate FC and I believe that with this initiative we are helping to generate the supporters of the future."
