Gate host successful Open Session
The evening offered an opportunity for local people to learn more about the club's plans for the future whilst getting their first glimpse on the brand-new 3G surface that has been laid over the seasonal break.
Margate Youth FC were able to enjoy training on the pitch before First Team Manager Steve Watt led his final session with the first team before their trip to Thurrock FC on Saturday afternoon.
Fans were able to quiz the Gaffer, Director of Football Steve Brown, Club Captain James Rogers and new-signing Tom Wynter once training was complete. The quartet left no fan unsure of their ambitions and togetherness ahead of the fresh campaign.
Earlier in the evening, members of the Board had the opportunity to answer questions from fans. Topics ranged from club merchandise to Margate's plans to build a for a new community sports hub for the area.
The evening engineered a nice bit of momentum for the club before their trip to Essex, where the team collected their first three points of the season courtesy of a gritty 1-0 victory.
Next up, the visit of local rivals Tonbridge Angels. Make sure you're at Hartsdown Park for a historic night as the Gate begin a new chapter, properly.
