Margate v Harrow Borough (Bostik Premier)

Margate welcome Harrow Borough to Hartsdown Park tomorrow (Saturday) looking to make it seven wins in all competitions in a row.

The Blues have been in fine form since their defeat to Wingate & Finchley back in August which has seen them rise to 7th in the Bostik Premier League and advance to the 3rd qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup, second round of the Velocity Trophy and also the quarter-finals of the Kent Senior Cup.

Margate will be without striker Jordan Chiedozie who serves the final game of his three game suspension for his red card at Worthing two weeks ago. Manager Steve Watt will have a decision to make with Jay May, Frannie Collin and Harry Stannard all pushing for a starting place.

There is likely to be some changes from Margate’s Velocity win over East Grinstead on Tuesday night with Tom Wynter likely to return to the defence, while Tom Mills could return to his left back position after being tested in a more forward role on Tuesday evening.

Harrow arrive at Hartsdown Park in mixed form after a very impressive start to their season. Four wins from four saw them top of the Bostik Premier throughout August but one win from five games has seen them drop to 5th in the league and exit the Emirates FA Cup to Enfield Town.

Last time these two sides met at Hartsdown Park it was the visitors who ran out 3-1 winners last season in the Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round replay with the North London side progressing to the 1st round proper where they exited to Northampton Town.

Kick off at Hartsdown Park is 3pm but as always if you can’t be there then you can stay right up to date on the Clubs official Twitter feed @margate_fc from 2pm.

Harrow Pinch A Point At the Death To Deny Blues Seventh Straight Win

Margate saw three points ripped from their grasp, as an injury time equaliser saw them draw 1-1 at home to Harrow Borough.

Margate had been in the ascendency until then but struggled to turn possession into meaningful efforts.

Several dangerous balls were flashed into the box as Margate dominated down the wings, with Orlando Smith especially lively.

He saw a shot fly over the bar, while Liam Friend also nodded a chance off target in a half of few chances.

However, just before the hour mark Smith broke the deadlock, capping a fine display, when he dropped inside from his right wing and shot low into the net, at the second time of asking.

Top scorer Frannie Collin then saw a 25 yard free-kick easily held by Melvin Minter as Margate pushed to add to their advantage.

Former Margate player Charles Banya should have had his side level soon after though, only to flash a shot wide when well placed in the box.

Substitute Henry Ikeije shot straight at Minter when set through on goal, while, breaking from that chance, Kurtis Cumberbatch saw an effort deflected just wide.

Cumberbatch then squandered an even better chance when his diving header flashed inches wide of the post from close range.

Just as it looked like Margate would take their winning run to seven games, Adam Richards picked up possession midway through Margate’s half and drove towards goal before firing a shot past Lenny Pidgeley into the bottom corner.

MARGATE: Pidgeley, Sessegnon, Mills, Rogers, Friend, Wynter, Smith (Bodkin 82), Prescott, May (Ikeije 32), Collin, Martin (Swift 82). Subs not used: Brown, Stannard.

HARROW BOROUGH: Minter, Moore, Uade, Richards, Ujah, Preddie, Banya, McLeod (Paquette 77), Stanislaus, Bryan, O'Connor (Cumberbatch 68). Subs not used: Cain, Davis-Coker, Hall.

Attendance: 552

Man of the Match: Tom Wynter
