Blues Defeat Guildford At HDP

Margate recorded their second win of pre-season on Saturday afternoon as they overcome Guildford City 2-1 at Hartsdown Park.

The Blues fell behind in the opening 20 minutes as Nathaniel Mensah nodded home from six yards as the visitors made the quicker start in the summer heat.

Margate weren’t behind for long though as Jake Embery soon levelled the game before missing an opportunity to give the ‘Gate the lead from 12 yards as Josh Oliver was hauled down in the box.

The hosts were much improved in the second half and eventually won the game 12 minutes from time as Charlie Hatton took his opportunity to fire the ‘Gate ahead.

Margate continue their pre-season schedule on Tuesday night as they travel to Ashford United with kick off at 7:45pm.
