After an impressive 4-2 away win to the same side last week, Jim Cornish’s side knew that another win would take them into 2nd in the League standings and also be their best start to a League campaign in three years.
Margate were well in control and another goal before the break sent them in 3-0 up at half-time against a Barming Ladies that couldn’t contain the attacking momentum of Cornish’s side.
The best goal of the afternoon was scored early in the second half as Richardson played a delightful chipped ball over the top which Poppy Green ran onto and fired past the stranded visiting keeper to make it 4-0.
Margate added a fifth goal soon after before Richardson doubled her tally to make it 6-0 in the final few moments.
The Bluebirds couldn’t keep hold of their clean sheet which they deserved as the visitors grabbed an injury time consolation on what was otherwise a superb afternoon for the Blues who made it three league wins in a row.
Margate are back in action on Sunday 16th October as they welcome Swale 2nds to St Lukes in the Kent FA Plate with kick-off at 2pm.
